Simon Child (born April 16, 1988 in Auckland) is a field hockey player from New Zealand, who earned his first cap for the national team, nicknamed The Black Sticks, in 2005 against Malaysia. He currently plays for DELHI WAVERIDERS. He played in the 2006 Men’s Hockey World Cup in Mönchengladbach, Germany and at the Field hockey at the 2008 & 2012 Summer Olympics.

Simon Child, a member of the FIH World All Star team in 2009, is among the nine Kiwis who are associated with Hockey India League. With 93 goals in more than 170 matches, the 25-year-old Child has etched his mark as one of the world’s finest strikers. Having started as a teenager, he has been a key member of New Zealand team in 2006 World Cup in Germany, 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and 2012 Games in London.
